This Privacy Notice explains how Axeltran (Pty) Ltd collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
It applies to personal information you give us through this website, including the quote form, and when you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email.

04 Personal information we collect
Quote form. When you request a quote through our website, we collect:
- your name
- your company name (optional)
- your phone number
- your email address
- the service you are interested in
- pickup and delivery locations
- your preferred date
- a description of your load
- your consent to this notice
Calls, WhatsApp and email. When you contact us directly, we collect the information you choose to share with us, such as your name, phone number, email address and the content of your messages.
Website. This website does not use analytics or advertising tools and does not set cookies. Like most websites, the provider that hosts it may automatically record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in server logs.
Please do not send us special personal information (for example, information about health, religion or criminal behaviour) or personal information about children. We do not need it to respond to a quote request.
05 How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your quote request and communicate with you about it
- provide the transport services you ask us for
- keep records as required by law
- deal with any questions or complaints you raise
We do not use your personal information for purposes that are unrelated to these, and we do not sell it.
06 Lawful basis and consent
We process your personal information on one or more of the following grounds allowed by POPIA:
- Consent: you consent when you submit the quote form and tick the consent box, or when you contact us and give us your details.
- Contract: the processing is needed to take steps you have asked for before entering into an agreement with us, such as preparing a quote, or to perform an agreement with you.
- Legal obligation: the processing is needed to comply with the law.
- Legitimate interests: the processing is needed for our legitimate interests or yours, such as keeping a record of our communication with you.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time by emailing info@axeltran.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it, and we may not be able to respond to your quote request without your information.
08 Transfers outside South Africa
Some of the service providers we use, such as email, messaging (including WhatsApp) and website hosting providers, may store or process personal information on servers outside South Africa.
Where your personal information is transferred outside South Africa, we will do so only as permitted by POPIA, for example where the recipient is subject to laws, binding rules or an agreement that provide an adequate level of protection, or where you consent to the transfer.
09 How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this notice, unless the law requires or allows us to keep it for longer, for example for tax or accounting records.
When we no longer need it, we delete or destroy it, or de-identify it so that it can no longer be linked to you.
10 How we protect it
We take appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, damage, unauthorised access and unlawful processing.
If we have reasonable grounds to believe that your personal information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
11 Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it
- ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or out of date
- ask us to delete or destroy personal information that we are no longer authorised to keep
- object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds
- withdraw your consent, where we rely on consent
- complain to the Information Regulator

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa:

13 Cookies, fonts and external links
This website does not set cookies. The fonts used on this website are hosted on our own website, so no font requests are sent to third parties such as Google.
If you click a WhatsApp link, you leave this website and WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies. If you click an email link, your own email app or provider is used to send your message.
